Clarion West Write-a-Thon 2019 Week Five

This week I made a breakthrough after a period of feeling very stuck and having trouble writing new words. I wrote a new short story rather spontaneously and am toying with the idea of another. I also got past a rough part of something fun I’m writing and finished a huge worldbuilding document with Georgina’s help that I desperately needed for my current novel project. All of this culminated in writing about 6,466 words, which isn’t 1000 words a day but it’s close! I’m really proud of myself and feeling much better about everything I’m working on.

Here is a short snippet of one of my projects:

The empty cavity of their torso yawned with wet silence. Their skin was pallid, drained of all color, but their blood and exposed muscle remained vibrant, dripping listlessly onto the stark white floor.

If you’re interested in sponsoring me for the remainder of the Clarion West write-a-thon, you can do so on my profile here. In a couple of days I will be posting my roundup for the month of July on my Patreon. If you’re interested in reading that and supporting my writing in general, please consider becoming a patron. Next week, I will update you all on how I did for the last week of the write-a-thon. See you then!
