Copyediting.
Copyediting is a pass to correct spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation. This includes checking cross-references, preparing style sheets to guide consistency, and reviewing all aspects of the manuscript.
Proofreading.
Proofreading is a final check to catch any stubborn errors, final grammatical inconsistencies, and typographical mishaps. This check includes problems with typesetting, page makeup, and ebook flow.
